In accepting this recognition, Daly said, “The ongoing work that I do through Bridge of Books wouldn’t happen without the support of a tremendously talented Board of Directors, a dedicated group of volunteers, and our community partners, who drive from far and near to pick up books for the kids they serve. These funds will help us purchase high-interest, diverse books to supplement these donations.”

Daly was among several Community Leaders who were also recognized that night. These award winners included:

Former New Jersey State Senator Jennifer Beck received the Community Impact Award.
Asbury Park Mayor John Morr received the Community Public Servant Award.
Wyatt Earp of the Monmouth/Ocean Central Labor Council received the Community Engagement Award.
Detective Joe Spitale received the Community Hero Award.
Yaneice Dean and Juliana Finkelstein both received the Community Rising Star Award.
Red Bank Councilwoman Laura Jannone received a Community Leader Award.
The VGCA Food Pantry Volunteers each received a Community Leader Award.

Netflix also received the Community Partner Award for their immediate and outstanding efforts to support Monmouth County and its residents as they look to build out their presence and campus.

The Vin Gopal Civic Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. VGCA recognizes that in our Central Jersey Communities there are many groups who are affected by our unique high cost of living and struggle to maintain their economic independence. Founded by State Senator Vin Gopal the nonprofit organization helps organizations and causes throughout Central New Jersey.

It is the goal of the Association to help those who are the backbone of our communities to maintain a fruitful, independent life by lending a helping hand wherever we can and also by fostering a relationship with other civic and religious groups with similar goals in helping our communities.
