Road to a Million

Bridge of Books Foundation began its journey in 2003 with the simple belief that all children should have books to call their own. That first year, Executive Director Abby Daly opened her own home as the first Bridge of Books location. Her home quickly filled with boxes of donated books. Abby, along with a determined group of volunteers (and an understanding family), delivered almost 8,000 books that first year to children in Monmouth County who did not have books of their own. The number of books and our reach throughout New Jersey has grown ever since.

1 Million Books Celebration!

More than 2,000 books distributed to over 600 students to encourage their love of reading

“We are honored to help celebrate this major milestone with Bridge of Books Foundation,” said Luigi Laugelli, Principal of Red Bank Primary School. “As a learning community, we realize the importance of children being surrounded by books, especially at the primary grades. Working together with Bridge of Books allows all our students, no matter what their personal circumstances may be, to have equal access to books and share in the joy of reading.”
